Rachel Brian founded Mod Mama in 2005, after the birth of her first child. At a loss to find cool clothes for boys, Rachel, a former illustrator, educator, and monkey scientist, sought to create a specialty web shop for like-minded moms. The flagship storefront in Providence opened in 2006 on the heels of the birth of Milo (baby #2). The Mod Mama shop located in Providence's historic Wayland Square neighborhood has become a meeting spot for local moms (with lots of toys to amuse the littlest shoppers, too). 2008 marked the launch of Rocket 10, Mod Mama's exclusive line designed by Rachel, and made right here in Rhode Island. Rachel's #1 goal for Mod Mama? "I love to see our website and shop becoming a community hub where moms can connect, get information about products, & shop for fun, hip, eco-friendly gear and clothes for their kids. Above all, I want to provide a service that makes moms' jobs easier and more fun!" |

Rebecca Joiner Pracht came on as manager of Mod Mama during the crunch of the holiday season in 2007. Inspired by her new niece, Sarah, Rebecca has been the cheery face and voice of Mod Mama ever since. An actor and dog enthusiast, Rebecca is also passionate about customer satisfaction - she will go the extra mile to make your Mod Mama experience a great one! |
